If you’ve met Cassie, you know her energy is contagious. A lifelong San Diegan and devoted fitness professional, Cassie brings over two decades of experience to her role as a personal trainer for seniors in San Diego. She loves helping older adults stay active, confident, and strong through every stage of life.
From Passion to Purpose
Cassie’s journey into fitness began with a simple love for movement and a deep appreciation for the power of staying healthy. “I’ve always enjoyed being active and helping people feel their best,” she says. “I knew I wanted to work in the health field and make a difference in people’s lives.”
Her inspiration came early. A mentor recognized her gift for connecting with others and encouraged her to pursue personal training full-time. Since then, Cassie has helped countless clients reach meaningful goals. One of her all time favorite client training goals? Helping a senior client compete in her first Spartan race at age 70.
Why Seniors Inspire Her
Being a personal trainer for seniors in San Diego has become Cassie’s calling. “The senior community is amazing,” she says. “Their life experiences and outlook on aging are motivating and have taught me so much.” Cassie emphasizes that the relationships she’s built with her clients feel more like family than work. “Honestly, I gain as much from my clients as they do from me. We grow stronger together — physically and emotionally.”
Favorite Exercises & Training Philosophy
Cassie believes that simple, functional movements can be the most empowering. Her favorite exercise? “Squats,” she says without hesitation. “They’re practical and can be modified for anyone. When a client realizes that standing up from a chair or getting in and out of a car feels easier — that’s a huge win.”
Her training sessions focus on balance, strength, and mobility — all tailored to each client’s comfort level and goals. She believes fitness should never feel intimidating, only encouraging. That helps explain why she’s often a top choice among those looking for senior fitness in San Diego.
How She Stays Active
When she’s not training others, Cassie practices what she preaches. She enjoys strength training several times a week and loves exploring San Diego’s trails and coastal paths with her husband. “We love hiking and cycling together,” she says. “It keeps us connected to nature — and to each other.”
Healthy Living, One Plate at a Time
Like many trainers involved in senior fitness in San Diego, nutrition is a favorite topic of Cassie’s. “I like to have a colorful plate filled with fresh fruits and vegetables,” she shares. “I eat more fish and plant-based meals and love experimenting with spices and recipes my clients share.”
A San Diego Native Through and Through
Born and raised in San Diego, Cassie grew up in a big family with five sisters and one brother. After heading east for college to play field hockey, she couldn’t resist the pull of her hometown. “San Diego was calling me back,” she laughs. Today, she and her husband have lived in North County for over 20 years — and she continues to inspire seniors across the community to live stronger, healthier, and more independent lives.
